NASA released the following animation earlier this year detailing the evolution of global surface temperature anomalies from 1880 to 2012.

NASA released the following animation earlier this year detailing the evolution of global surface temperature anomalies from 1880 to 2012.

The video offers a quick snapshot of what has been happening with global temperatures over the last 130 years, depicting a gradual yet sustained rise in temperature, with NASA concluding “the long-term warming trend, including continual warming since the mid-1970s, has been conclusively associated with the predominant global climate forcing, human-made greenhouse gases, which became substantial early in the 20th century.”

Check out the video below. According to NASA, “higher than normal temperatures are shown in red and lower then normal temperatures are shown in blue.”
