The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) will next month host an in-depth training workshop for professionals working in science, tech and government-related areas, looking specifically at plugging knowledge gaps when it comes to green and sustainable technologies.

The recent report on climate change released by the IPCC confirmed it – we need to act now to slow down global warming. Addressing global warming will take a collective approach and technology can and is already proving to be a ke vehicle for change.

From November 18 – 22, TERI will host this training workshop at Retreat in Haryana. Targted primarily at professionals already working in the sector, such as scientists, academics and government figures, the course will be framed around the following fields:

  • Biofertilisers and biopesticides
  • Biotechnology for green agriculture
  • Sustainable habitat
  • Waste management
  • Renewable and decentralised energy solutions
  • Climate change
  • Resource management
  • Energy audit

The event will look to provide training in specialised areas of biotechnology; impart knowledge on resource and waste management; guide participants through technologies related to sustainable habitats and green housing; and analyse how this all fist together in the face of climate change

The location itself should provide a fitting backdrop – Retreat is a state-of-the-art venue built upon principles of sustainability and is completely self-sufficient energy-wise.

The deadline for application 4 November 2013 and spots are limited. Head over to TERI’s website for all the details.
