Bringing together the top minds in green economy and business, Ecosummit looks to provide fertile ground for enterprises to further their clean technology innovations, hosting two European summits in 2013 in Berlin and London.
Taking place in Berlin in June and London in October, Ecosummit acts as a connecting point for cleantech startups, investors and enterprises, helping engineers, energy specialists and forward-thinkers to parlay their environmentally-conscious technological ideas into successful business ventures.
The event, dubbed the Smart Green Business Network, will feature a number of in-depth discussions and presentations on all manner of topics including pitching ideas to investors, providing the crucial link between product or idea development and marketplace introduction.
The organisers have curated a line-up of speakers and conveners from all corners of the cleantech investment field including venture capitalist firms and clean energy corporations. Acknowledging that no sustainable measure exists in a vacuum, Ecosummit will also provide a peripheral view of green business innvovation, hosting seminars about urban planning, climate change and, of course, developments within the field of renewable energy.
The Ecosummit Awards will close out the event, giving ingenious green startups the chance to compete for 6,000€ prize money.
Ecosummit’s ultimate goal is to facilitate the smooth and swift tranistion to a green economy, using this event as a bridge to take the cleantech industry to the next level. With “green economy”, “sustainable business practices” and, of course, “innovation” becoming without doubt hot topics in the business world, many firms are placing emphasis on developing and investing in environmentally-friendly measures and swapping the bloated, Hollywood-proliferated catchphrase “Greed is good” for the resoundly more beneficial “Green is good”.
