On October 14th, RESET was pleased to take part at the 2022 MagnEFi Conference in Crete.
Funded by the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions programme of the European Commission, MagnEFi explores the topics of magnetism and magnetic material research, including in cutting edge areas such as nanoscale magnetic structures.
As well as covering technical topics, organiser Beatrice Bednarz of Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz asked RESET to provide a digital talk about the role of digitisation in the fields of sustainability.
RESET’s Mark Newton provided a talk covering the benefits of digital tools within climate research, structural organisation, public engagement and transparency, but also discussed the many challenges of digitisation, including carbon emissions, the digital divide and the monopolisation of the digital world by major tech companies.
Once again, a big thanks to Beatrice for helping to organise the conference!
