MakeSense, The Grameen Creative Lab and Factory Berlin are organising a pitch competition for social business entrepreneurs interested in attending the Global Social Business Summit (GSBS), which takes place in Berlin from 4 – 6 November. During a pitch night, teams will compete to win a ticket to the event, including a booth at the “Space for Entrepreneurs” and a spot at an innovation workshop (hosted by MakeSense) where you can analyse challenges and how to overcome them.

Criteria for selection include the business’ social and/or environmental impact, its industry disruptiveness, the team fit, its financial sustainability model, and the smart incorporation of technology. Applications to take part in the pitch competition close 30 September. The pitch competition will be held on 16 October during the monthly ‘SenseDrink’ meet-up.

“We can put poverty into the museums”

Held annually, the GSBS is organised by Professor Muhammad Yunus, microcredit pioneer, Nobel Peace Prize recipient and founder of the Grameen Bank, and his creative advisor, Hans Reitz. The summit serves to spread awareness about social business, foster discussion and collaboration between practitioners and stakeholders, as well as present and conceive best practices.

We’re keeping our fingers crossed and wish all entrepreneurs many original ideas for the pitch and creative impulses during the summit.
