If you ever had any doubts about climate change, global warming and their effects, then the video below, from nature photographer James Balog, is a must watch for you.
The video shows the biggest ever calving of the stunning Ilulissat glacier in western Greenland. Balog’s documentary, Chasing Ice, surveys Greenland’s glaciers to demonstrate to viewers the impact climate change is having on our environment. National Geographic first broadcast the film in April 2013 to spread awareness on melting glaciers and rising sea levels.
The calving of glacier shown in the video is greater than the size of Manhattan, with the ice poking out about 90 – 120 metres above the water.
