Husband and wife team Dan Tefft and Annie Paquette-Tefft have a vision. They want to work towards a better future and are looking to launch a crowd investment platform, called CLIME-IT, for start ups with green and sustainable ideas and solutions. The idea is to assist fledgling start ups find investors to help them achieve their climate protection goals.

Up until a few months ago, crowdinvesting did not really exist. Non-accredited financiers could not invest in new businesses, an avenue of funding for start ups that remained unexplored. However, a new investing law in the US now allows US citizens to invest small amounts in start ups and become part owner of a business. Via the JOBS Act (Jumpstart Our Business Startups Act), anyone can now can take part in so-called equity-based crowdfunding. And this is where CLIME-IT comes in.

The makers of CLIME-IT are looking to build a platform specifically for technologies and business ideas that work on sustainable solutions to climate change. The platform is not yet up and running – the team itself requires funding to get their project off the ground. To this end, Dan and Annie have posted their project on Indiegogo and are looking to gather 100,000 USD via crowdfunding in order to bring their vision to life.
