Cities are becoming increasingly important: more and more people are flocking to them meaning more and more emissions are coming out of them. So what does sustainable urban development then look like? This question is something that the organisers behind the URBAN FUTURE Conference will look to tackle when the even takes place in Graz, Austria from 18 – 19 November.

Cities are ground zero for what the future of the planet will look like: more than 50 percent of all people worldwide live in cities with urban living using up 70 percent of all resources total. These days, a number of questions are circling as to how cities and urban planners will address challneges relating to infrastructure, resources, energy, mobility and living without destroying their landscape. Read more about this in our article on Sustainable Cities.

The international URBAN FUTURE Conference puts sustainable urban development into focus. Key decision makers from across the world will gather to discuss the various aspects of sustainable urban planning, develop new ideas and work on solutions collaboratively. Sustainable cities are not utopian: more than 120 speakers will introduce concrete approaches that address themes such as mobility, resource and energy management, communication and living/city planning.
