The People’s Climate March will coincide with the 2014 UN Climate Change Summit and aims to mobilise mass action to help build momentum for climate action around the world.
Activists in Berlin have put forward their own unique, very Berlin way to gather masses, organising the Silent Climate Parade (SCP), a dance parade made possible through the use of wireless headphones.
On September 23, world leaders will meet in New York City for the UN summit on the climate crisis, joining UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon who will urge governments to support an ambitious global agreement to dramatically reduce global-warming-causing pollution. The SCP will strike the right chord through music, calling on people to dance and demand solutions to and suitable actions against climate change.
Alongside DJs and performance artists, organisations such as Avaaz, BUND, Greenpeace and WWF will be represented. The starting point is Alexanderplatz at 13;00 and the parade will end at Brandenburg Gate at 18:00. Participation, of course, is free of charge you just need to bring some valid ID to lave as a deposit on the set of wirless headphones that will be given to you for the duration of the march. RESET is a partner of the parade and we eagerly look forward to your support and your presence!
