I am sorry for what my fellow six Indians have been accused of doing, I am ashamed of these desperate men for ridiculing their and my country's reputation and, most importantly, I am sorry for your loss of life and the devastating impact that will have on your family for their rest of theirs.
There are no words which can compensate your presence. You are gone, you are in a better world than the one I am living in, it's just that your in-presence will pinch your family. We humans are totally fickle minded, we crib today and we forget tomorrow. It's the near and dear ones to whom the loved ones matter.
I will still call my self an Indian cause that is my identity, no matter where I live, no matter what I do, I still cannot run away from identity. All I can do is learn from this incident and try to bring a change and the same goes for my all my fellow Indians. We must all learn from what just happened and take an oath to make the world and, precisely, India, a much better place to live in. We can surely make a change. If all the educated youth guided just one illiterate person and took the initiative to educate or even make him aware of the consequences, we can certainly bring a change. I am not dreamer, I am not living in the virtual world. Every change that was brought in place was brought by a human. Why can it not be you, why should it always be someone from outside?
We can try to be the change and we can devote our time to teach the illiterate and the ignorant. There are many uneducated youth who might not even think that actions have consequences therefore why not educate them? I do not want to criticise anyone, I fully sympathise with the the victim who just lost her life and is completely faultless in this. All I want to say now is that next time you see your friend or any guy eve teasing, take the initiative. Don't just sit by and do nothing, stop him, take an opportunity to educate someone who perhaps is not aware of the effect of his behaviour on others. This is the first positive step from your end which might bring change into place. Someone has to take the first step, why not you?
