On the 22nd of November, Bitkom's fifth annual hub conference will be held in Berlin. This time, the event will focus on the topics of innovation, digitalisation, digital transformation and startups, with one section called the Innovator's Pitch highlighting the new business models that really show promise.
Digital health, mobility or the Internet of Things - startups that focus on one of these three areas can now apply for the Innovator’s Pitch at the Hub Conference 2016 in Berlin. The event wants to bring together new digital visonaries, entrepreneurs and global players from the worlds of politics and economics, as well as sparking the interest of the general public too. Organisers Bitkom, whose work focusses on promoting innovative economic policy, the modernisation of the education system and forward-thinking internet policies, are organising the Hub Conference for the fifth time. They're expecting approximately 2000 visitors, 400 startups and 130 speakers to descend on Berlin's impressive "Station" events centre.
Innovator’s Pitch: who can take part?
Unfortunately, just having a really great idea isn't enough. Startups with projects connected to digital health, mobility or the IoT have to be able to present a prototype of their project in order to be in with a chance of being nominated. From all of the applications received online, an initial selection will be made of three projects from each category. Those who make it into this preselection round will be able to present their innovative idea in front of a hand-picked jury of specialists and all of the conference attendees. The finalists from each category will receive 5000 euro, as well as a host of other non-cash prizes, and automatic Bitkom membership. And the best prize of all, of course, a whole raft of new contacts and possible backers that can support them on their way.
Interesting to know: Startups that don't want to take part in the contest but are still interested in attending the conference can apply for a limited amount of free tickets.
