For two days in April next year, Pondicherry will be home to the Green Campus Summit 2013, providing an opportunity for everyone involved in higher education to share thoughts on how to run institutions in a sustainable manner as well as the best methods for teaching students about sustainability.
More than 300 representatives from universities, organisations and governments worldwide will take part and the event will be a catalyst for fostering relationships and exchanging information about implementing sustainable practices into educational institutions such as curriculum innovation, restructuring, action research, activities and practical projects.

Suggested themes for abstracts include: environmental education and curriculum development; outreach programmes; managing water resources; green energy; and food security.
