Ecosummit, the yearly gathering of green start-ups and investors, is getting ready to roll out its 2017 edition. With the submission deadline only a few weeks away, green innovators are invited to apply for its coveted award.
The Berlin Ecosummit 2017 (ECO17), now in its seventh edition, will soon be kicking off. The event, scheduled for 9-10 May 2017, is an international gathering of green innovators looking for clever ways to embed sustainability in cities. This year’s agenda will feature some 53 speakers, including 29 startups, from the areas of mobility, buildings, energy, Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Participants will have a chance to find out what’s new and what’s hot in sustainability innovation, and to network with one another, while startups will be able to pitch their innovations to investors and partners. Its coveted Ecosummit Award is part and parcel of the summit and gives green startups a chance to win money prizes and publicity, as well as gain a launch pad for their ideas.
Three top startups will be rewarded in two different categories: ‘Early Stage Startup’, for projects with a 2016 revenue under two million EUR, and the ‘Late Stage Startup’ for those with a 2016 revenue over two million EUR.
Applicants need to apply by Tuesday 18 April, by creating a public profile on the Ecosummit Market, a free online platform designed to bring together startups and investors.
A panel of investors and corporates actively looking for new investment and innovation opportunities is on the award jury, and will cast their vote on the growth potential, product innovation and environmental impact of the submitted proposals. Voting takes place by between 19 April and 2 May, and the winners will be announced at ECO17 on 9 May 2017.
